Vera May Donahoe Pilz

Vera May Donahoe Pilz, age 94, of Hot Springs Village passed away April 12, 2019.  She was born May 28, 1924, in Brazos County, Texas to Otha Sims Donahoe and Mary Florence Williams Donahoe.

Vera is preceded in death by her parents; her brother Billie T. Donahoe.

She is survived by her husband Donald R. Pilz of 65 years; sisters, Doris M. Donahoe McGill, Rosenburg, Texas and Sherry J. Donahoe Chance (Billy), Normangee, Texas, sister in law; Norma Donahoe, Hardy Arkansas; nephews and nieces and many wonderful friends.  

During WWII Vera served as a secretary to the Navy in Washington, DC, worked as a secretary to an oil company in Houston, Texas, taught elementary grades 3^rd and 4^th, Antique dealer for several shoppes around Houston area and did extensive volunteer and charity work.

Vera was a member of Scared Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and through many years her interest and enjoyments were Village Garden Club, Brush Strokes Art Club, Christian Women, Dance Club and Helping Hands.   

Mass 11:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 with Father Bill Elsner officiating.  Interment will follow at CedarVale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Habitat for Humanity Hot Springs Village, Village Garden Club or Brush Strokes Art Club.
